We wanted to inform you exactly what will be happening tonight during the Defiant-to-Akira data migration. Akira is our new, dedicated piece of infrastructure that is 100% owned by Magnus Box!
Here's a rundown of what to expect:
- Defiant will be going offline for 2 hours to avoid any data corruption before we begin the migration process.
- We will then begin funneling data into Akira instead.
- We will be posting alerts and updates to status.magnusbox.com throughout the entire process.

After $50,000 and three months of tireless testing and improving our new storage cluster, we are ready to flip the switch over the weekend to redirect storage traffic from Texas to a new home here in Saginaw, Michigan.
The risk of data loss can be high if proper precautions are not taken during this process, which is why Magnus Box is not taking this migration lightly. Our team will be diligent in making sure every part of the process goes off without a hitch.

We have shut down the Defiant storage cluster and will start moving vaults around 7 PM EST. This will give existing backup jobs time to error out and prevent data loss.
